Saturday 12th May, wasn’t your ordinary Saturday in Teignmouth.
The day would soon turn to be a multi-coloured and fun Saturday for 800 people.
800 people take part in Colour Rush
800 participants lined Teignmouth Beach preparing for a 5km run whilst being showered in two tonnes of rainbow-coloured powder paint.
At the event village a variety of games and activities for everyone to get involved with and enjoy.
One such activity even saw Rowcroft’s very own CEO, Mark Hawkins, be dunked in the ‘dunk tank’ all in the aid of the hospice.
Supported by Live Music
After an exhausting 5km run the participants were able to enjoy an afternoon of live music from local bands as well as a variety of activities.
These bands included The Kaizens, Buried Hedz, Rich Cottel and the Screemin ‘ Weesels.
The Colour Rush event was also supported by the local businesses of Teignmouth.
Rowcroft Hospice help patients and families make the most of every day.
However such the support from the hospice is not without it costs whether it be time, compassion, medical expertise or money.
Despite the hurdles, Rowcroft Hospice helps over 2,000 people living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon every year.
More than just about fun
The Colour Rush event is more than just about having fun; it’s a chance to celebrate the life of a loved one.
Kelly Evans, 34 and from Newton Abbot said:
The Colour Rush was really good fun. The kids loved every single minute of it. We are running in memory of family today as Rowcroft recently cared for our Uncle Steve and for our Grandmother 6 years ago.

The Colour Rush 2019
BoostTorbay did ask the question as to when/if The Colour Rush will be back in Torbay in 2018.
Unfortunately, and we’re sure this will disappoint a few of you, that there are no plans as to hold another Colour Rush in The Torbay area.
However, Rowcroft Hospice are keeping their fingers crossed another will be confirmed next year, once a location is confirmed with dates and information to follow.
So keep your eyes peeled.
