As we edge closer to Spring, coats and umbrellas are put in storage and we start to dress for warmer times. Those cold winter nights will soon be forgotten as the sun starts to become more visible.
One great thing about living in Torbay is that when the sun is out, there are so many lovely places to have a drink and a bite to eat. This post will focus on a few different areas of Torbay, and some great places to enjoy lunch in them.
Babbacombe locals are really spoilt for choice when it comes to food. You can choose to grab some fish and chips from either Drakes or Hanbury’s and eat them whilst having a nice walk across the downs, or sit in one of the many beer gardens in the area. The Babbacombe Inn gives you the chance to have a bit of lunch whilst admiring the sea view.
If you fancy some lunch while watching the boats, the Harbourside is your best bet. With a number of takeaways and ice cream shops, you can have a sit down while you take it all in. If you fancy a sit down lunch, you can visit the Marina, a lovely restaurant with some great views of all the boats on the Harbour.
Paignton Sea Front
Over in Paignton, locals and tourists are spoilt for choice when it comes to lunch. You can go to Scoff’s and try their unique battered chips, or visit one of many bars that serve food. The Inn on the Green (below), is one of Paignton’s most popular lunch spots.
On the other side of Paignton on the way to Brixham, Goodrington is a great place for sun seekers. During the summer, Quaywest (the only waterpark in Torbay) is open and hugely popular with the kids. At the resort there are a number of stalls selling fish and chips, doughnuts, hot dogs and other fast food treats. If a sit down meal is more your thing, the Inn on the Quay provides you with a great menu and huge beer garden so you can eat in the sun.
